The day on the war

Overnight into Monday, Russian and Ukrainian forces launched extensive drone and missile attacks across both countries, resulting in at least 22 fatalities and dozens of injuries. In Russia, a Ukrainian drone strike on Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan killed 12 people and injured 39 others, targeting industrial and civilian facilities, according to regional authorities.

Separately, a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia's Belgorod region killed three people and wounded 25, damaging multiple residential and administrative buildings. On the Ukrainian side, Russian strikes killed two people and injured 23 in Kharkiv after hitting a residential building.

Another eight people were injured in Odesa, where strikes damaged the power grid, port infrastructure, and residential areas. Energy infrastructure near a shopping center in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, was also hit, injuring nine people, including four children.

Additionally, a Russian artillery strike in Bugaivka, Kharkiv region, killed five people, and a guided-bomb attack in the Sumy region injured 14, including a child. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that 61 missiles of various types had been fired at Ukraine this week, calling for more air defense.
