The day on the war

A quieter day saw Ukrainian air defenses reportedly intercepting 92 out of 99 Russian drones launched overnight from June 19 to 20, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. While hits were recorded at three locations with debris falling at three additional sites, a specific strike in Tristanets, Sumy region, reportedly hit a food enterprise owned by an American company, injuring two people.

Concurrently, Ukrainian forces continued their campaign against Russian oil, gas, and energy infrastructure in occupied Crimea and Russia during the same period. On the ground, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russian forces recently advanced in the Kostyantynivka and Pokrovsk directions. The Ukrainian General Staff, reported by Ukrinform, noted 234 combat engagements across the front line on June 20, with intense fighting in the Pokrovsk and Hipole directions, where Ukrainian defenders repelled approximately 30 Russian assaults in each sector.
