India Women clinch series against Zimbabwe with dominant 121-run victory in second ODI
Centuries from Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma powered India to a commanding total, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
The story
At the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, India Women delivered a powerful batting display to defeat Zimbabwe Women by 121 runs in the second One-Day International on Sunday, thereby clinching the three-match series. After an early collapse, India recovered strongly thanks to a crucial 153-run partnership between former skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma.
Harmanpreet scored her eighth ODI century, making 126 runs off 121 balls. Deepti Sharma, meanwhile, ended a nearly decade-long wait for an ODI hundred, remaining unbeaten on 106 runs off 86 deliveries.
Their efforts propelled India to a formidable total of 328 for six. In response, Zimbabwe fought hard but were eventually dismissed for 207 in the penultimate over, unable to match India's scoring rate. The victory ensures India takes an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
