The story

At Old Trafford, Manchester, India Women, batting first, got off to a quick start with openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana showing aggression. However, South Africa's bowlers, led by Shabnim Ismail and Marizanne Kapp, pulled things back in the middle overs, restricting India to 158/7.

Harmanpreet Kaur, playing in her 200th T20I, contributed 24, while Deepti Sharma added 29. In response, South Africa's chase began shakily, losing two early wickets to Shree Charani.

But Marizanne Kapp, with an unbeaten 81 off 45 balls, combined with Tazmin Brits for a vital 97-run partnership, anchoring the innings. Despite India's fielding errors, including two dropped catches of Kapp by Radha Yadav, South Africa successfully chased the target with five balls to spare, securing a six-wicket win.
