The story

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium witnessed a historic run-chase as India successfully overhauled West Indies' formidable total of 405/7. West Indies' innings was anchored by three centuries, with John Campbell (101 off 68), Shai Hope (104 off 94), and Amir Jangoo (114 off 77) all reaching triple figures, marking their highest-ever ODI total.

However, India's response was even more spectacular. Opening the innings, Shubman Gill smashed an unbeaten 223 runs from just 133 deliveries, including 26 fours and 8 sixes.

He was ably supported by captain Rohit Sharma, who scored a rapid 101 off 75 balls. Their colossal 255-run opening partnership laid the foundation for India's eight-wicket win with 39 balls to spare, sealing the series 2-0.

Meanwhile, in Potchefstroom, Australia secured a consolation 45-run victory over South Africa via the DLS method in the third ODI, avoiding a whitewash. Alex Carey's 74 was crucial in Australia posting 322/9, before Corbin Bosch's 4/60 restricted the Proteas. South Africa took the series 2-1.
