Abhishek Sharma's Record Century Powers India to 3-0 T20I Series Sweep Against Afghanistan
India completed a dominant performance at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, securing a clean sweep in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
The story
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, India delivered a commanding performance to clinch the third and final T20I against Afghanistan by 127 runs, completing a 3-0 series whitewash. India posted a formidable total of 221/7 in their 20 overs, largely thanks to a record-breaking innings from Abhishek Sharma, who smashed 108 runs off just 34 balls.
This marked the fastest T20I century by an Indian and the third quickest overall in men's T20Is. Sanju Samson also contributed significantly with a half-century, scoring 50 runs from 34 deliveries.
In response, Afghanistan's chase faltered early and they were bundled out for just 94 runs in 14.1 overs. India's bowlers shared the spoils, with Nitish Kumar Reddy claiming 3/25 and Ravi Bishnoi taking 3/26. Axar Patel also chipped in with two wickets, ensuring a comprehensive victory for the home side.
