The story

On Day 4 of the second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club, India maintained their dominance over Sri Lanka. Resuming their first innings at 265/8, Sri Lanka were eventually bowled out for 290, with Sonal Dinusha scoring a defiant 103, his second century of the series.

Off-spinner Saransh Jain wrapped up the tail, taking two wickets including Dinusha's, while Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar had claimed three wickets each on Day 3. With a substantial first-innings lead of 213 runs, India enforced the follow-on.

In their second innings, Sri Lanka lost openers Lahiru Udara for 3 to Mohammed Siraj and Kamil Mishara for 32 to Ravindra Jadeja. At lunch on Day 4, Sri Lanka stood at 83/2, still needing 130 runs to make India bat again.
