The story

India began their T20I series in Zimbabwe with a decisive seven-wicket victory at the Harare Sports Club. After captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl, India's pace attack, led by the returning Mayank Yadav, restricted Zimbabwe to 125/7.

Yadav made an immediate impact, taking a wicket on his very first ball, and finished with two wickets, as did Prince Yadav. Zimbabwe's innings saw contributions from Wessly Madhevere (39) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (27*).

In response, India's chase was spearheaded by a blistering knock from teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who smashed 50 runs off just 19 balls, becoming the youngest player to score a T20I half-century. Ishan Kishan (35) and Shreyas Iyer (28*) provided solid support, guiding India to the target of 126 in just 13.2 overs. Mayank Yadav was named Player of the Match for his impactful bowling performance.
