The men's international cricket calendar sees India begin their two-match T20I series against Ireland today in Belfast, with Shreyas Iyer leading a new-look Indian squad. This series presents an opportunity for India to fine-tune combinations and assess emerging talent.

Meanwhile, Day 1 of two significant Test matches concluded yesterday. At Trent Bridge, New Zealand dominated the opening day of the third Test against England, posting a strong 361/4 at stumps.

Openers Tom Latham (151) and Devon Conway (157) forged a record 317-run partnership before England staged a late fightback, claiming four wickets, including two in two balls, towards the close of play. In Antigua, Sri Lanka batted first against West Indies in their opening Test, being bowled out for 308.

Captain Dhananjaya de Silva was the standout performer for Sri Lanka with 120 runs. West Indies will begin their reply on Day 2. Additionally, three T20 World Cup Americas Sub Regional Qualifier matches and an Asia Pacific Champions Trophy fixture were decided on Thursday.
