The story

Day one of the third Test between England and New Zealand is underway at Trent Bridge, with the series tied at 1-1. England will be looking to bounce back after a 253-run defeat in the second Test at The Oval, where they were also docked 12 World Test Championship points for a slow over-rate.

New Zealand, boosted by Matt Henry's 11-109 and Glenn Phillips' maiden Test ton in the previous match, will aim to secure the series. Meanwhile, in the Caribbean, West Indies are hosting Sri Lanka for the first Test of their series at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

West Indies, coming off a 2-1 T20I series win against Sri Lanka, will be keen to start their Test campaign strongly under captain Roston Chase. Sri Lanka will be looking to stage an upset.
