At Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday, India clinched a decisive nine-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the third One Day International, completing a 3-0 series sweep. Chasing 219, India's Yashasvi Jaiswal starred with an unbeaten 110 off just 83 balls, marking his second ODI century, supported by Rohit Sharma's fluent 79. Their 170-run opening partnership effectively took the game away from the visitors, with India reaching 224 for 1 in just 28.4 overs. Earlier, pace bowler Prasidh Krishna delivered a career-best performance, taking 5 for 23 to restrict Afghanistan to 218, despite a resilient maiden ODI century of 102 from captain Hashmatullah Shahidi. Shubman Gill was named Player of the Series for his 238 runs.

Meanwhile, the second Test between England and New Zealand at The Oval saw Day 4 conclude with England requiring 281 runs to win with five wickets remaining. New Zealand had set a formidable target after posting 391 and 362 in their innings, while England managed 291 and 182 for 5. In other international action, Australia secured a T20I series win against Bangladesh, with the third and final match of the series currently in progress in Chattogram.
