The story

At the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, India put on a commanding batting display in the second ODI against Afghanistan. After winning the toss and electing to bat, India posted a mammoth 402 all out, primarily thanks to a sensational 224-run partnership between captain Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan.

Gill battled heat and cramps to score 154 off 110 balls, while Kishan's aggressive 125 off 86 deliveries included 11 fours and 7 sixes. Afghanistan's Nangeyalia Kharote was the pick of their bowlers, taking 4/76.

In response, Afghanistan struggled to keep pace with the daunting target, eventually being bowled out for 232 in 44.3 overs. Rahmat Shah top-scored with 78, but India's bowlers, led by Arshdeep Singh (3/45) and Gurnoor Brar (3/60), maintained control, sealing a comprehensive 170-run victory and an unassailable 2-0 series lead.
