The story

Day three of the first Test between England and New Zealand at Lord's was largely a washout, with rain and bad light severely limiting play. Only 9.4 overs were possible, but England made the most of the brief windows of action.

Fast bowler Ollie Robinson continued his impressive performance, taking two crucial wickets for no runs in just four balls. He first dismissed Rachin Ravindra, clean bowling the left-hander who had made 8 runs, and then trapped Daryl Mitchell in his crease for a duck.

New Zealand, chasing a target of 254, slumped to 55 for 5 in their second innings. Opening batsman Devon Conway remained unbeaten on 19, alongside wicketkeeper Tom Blundell on 2, as stumps were called early. England requires five more wickets to secure victory, while New Zealand still needs 199 runs.
